Terms of Service — Doctor Primal

Last updated: [DATE]

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or using Doctor Primal (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. What Doctor Primal Is

Doctor Primal is an AI chat assistant that answers nutrition and lifestyle questions by synthesizing the published views of Aajonus Vonderplanitz, Ray Peat, and Jack Kruse, alongside independent curated research. Answers are generated by an AI model and are provided in two formats: Quick (brief) and Deep Dive (structured, with sources where available).

2a. Beta Phase

Doctor Primal is currently offered as a beta version. This means:

  • Some features are incomplete, marked "coming soon", or may be changed or removed without notice.
  • Answers, sources and limits can contain errors or behave unexpectedly, and the Service may occasionally be unavailable.
  • Plans, daily limits and prices may change during the beta. Changes to the price of an existing subscription are always announced in advance as described in Section 5.
  • We may reset or migrate beta data (such as saved conversations) if a technical change requires it; we will try to give notice where reasonably possible.

By using the beta you accept that it is not a finished product. Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

3. Not Medical Advice

This is critically important. Doctor Primal provides educational and informational content only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and using it does not create a doctor-patient relationship of any kind.

  • Do not use Doctor Primal as a substitute for professional medical care.
  • Always consult a qualified physician or other healthcare provider for any health condition, before starting any diet, supplement, or lifestyle change, and before stopping or altering any prescribed treatment.
  • If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on the Service in an emergency.
  • Content reflects the documented opinions of named individuals (Aajonus Vonderplanitz, Ray Peat, Jack Kruse) and independently curated research; it is not a consensus medical position and may conflict with mainstream clinical guidance.

4. Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you are a parent or guardian permitting a minor to use the Service, you are responsible for their use of it.
  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • One account per person. Accounts may not be shared, sold, or transferred.

5. Subscription Plans and Billing

  • Doctor Primal offers a free plan ("Forager") and paid subscription plans ("Hunter", "Apex"), billed monthly in advance.
  • Currency and prices: prices are set in Swiss francs (CHF). Regular prices are CHF 12 per month for Hunter and CHF 22 per month for Apex. You can choose to be billed in euros (EUR) instead; the EUR price is a rounded-up equivalent shown before you subscribe (currently EUR 13 for Hunter and EUR 24 for Apex) and is not adjusted with exchange rates during your subscription. The currency you subscribe in applies to all renewals of that subscription.
  • Beta price: while the beta runs, Hunter is offered at a reduced beta price (currently CHF 8 / EUR 9 per month, shown on the pricing page). The beta price applies until we announce the end of the beta. Your price will only change after we have notified you by email at least 30 days in advance; you can cancel at any time before the new price takes effect, and continued use after that date counts as acceptance of the new price.
  • Prices include VAT where applicable; any applicable VAT is shown on the checkout page and on your invoices.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Doctor Primal does not store your full card number.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel any time in Account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep paid-tier access until then.
  • Changing plans: if you switch to another paid plan, the new plan starts immediately and the unused remainder of your previous plan is credited to your account with Stripe.
  • EU/EEA and UK consumers: you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on digital subscriptions. Because paid features are provided immediately, you are asked to expressly consent to immediate performance and to acknowledge the loss of the withdrawal right before checkout (a separate, unticked checkbox). The exact wording and version of the consent you gave is stored with your account. Without that consent, we cannot start a paid plan.
  • Other price changes are announced by email at least 30 days in advance; continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
  • Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: - Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to seek medical guidance for an emergency. - Attempt to circumvent usage limits, scrape or bulk-extract content, reverse-engineer the Service, or interfere with its operation. - Use automated means to create multiple accounts or abuse free-tier limits. - Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person.

7. Intellectual Property

  • Doctor Primal's software, design, and original curated content are owned by [ENTITY NAME] or its licensors.
  • References to Aajonus Vonderplanitz's, Ray Peat's, and Jack Kruse's published work are used for commentary, synthesis, and educational purposes; all rights in that original source material remain with their respective rights-holders. Doctor Primal is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official representative of any of the three named individuals or their estates unless separately stated.
  • You retain ownership of the questions and messages you send, but grant Doctor Primal a license to process them to provide and improve the Service.

8. AI-Generated Content — No Guarantee of Accuracy

Answers are generated by an AI model and may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information, even when citations are shown. During the beta phase (Section 2a) this risk is higher. Evidence-quality labels reflect an internal classification and are not a substitute for reading the underlying source. Doctor Primal does its best to avoid fabricating sources, but you should independently verify anything important before acting on it.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, [ENTITY NAME] is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any health outcome resulting from acting on information provided by the Service.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited (e.g., death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud), consistent with applicable consumer-protection law.

10. Termination

Doctor Primal may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in advance (e.g., by email or in-app notice). Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

[PLACEHOLDER — depends on where the operating entity is registered. If Switzerland: Swiss law, with EU consumer-protection provisions potentially still applying to EU-resident users under mandatory consumer law. If an EU country: that country's law plus GDPR. Needs to be finalized once the business entity is confirmed.]
